Installatie: 3X3: Maud Van Den Beuken III
The third 3x3 instalment of artist Maud van den Beuken will be the final experiment in an edition of three at V2_ on the concept of ´displacement´.
While Maud is currently on a residency in Hamburg, she investigated the concept of 'displacement' through three experiments. While not being physically in Rotterdam, she's finding new understandings of being in one space or another, when there is simply too much world in between.
For her last 3x3 instalment she invites LU'UM, the collective she's been working with in Hamburg, to V2_. LU'UM is an open collective of architects, urban planners, designers and artists, designing spaces of encounter while acting in between fields of activism and spatial practice.
As questioning our ways of working is one of the central parts in the practice of LU'UM, you are invited to join into a circle with LU'UM in which the act of asking questions itself is central.
The event will take place physically at V2_. Please attend by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org to claim your spot and be kept up to date.
Experiments are an essential part of every art practice. Even more than the end results, experiments, bèta versions and try-outs offer an inside look on how an artist thinks and works. Therefore, the experiment is made central in 3x3.
V2_ offers three artists the space, time and resources to develop three experiments. Every first Friday evening of the month the public can witness one of these experiments live. A unique experience, since no one knows what experiments will lead to…
Maud van den Beuken
Maud van den Beuken (1993) investigates geographical data of the Earth (object) in relation to the volume of the human being (subject). Her practice is characterized by an inquisitive attitude as a field worker in which she measures, scans and defines the landscape. She’s interested in the way we understand the land under our feet and the sky above our heads.
Every Friday it's 'Kunstavond' for the Kunstblock art venues in the Witte de Withkwartier: MAMA, TENT, WORM, V2_, Lab for the Unstable Media, Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art and CBK Rotterdam’s collection of art in the public space.
