V2_Live: Mutable (Concert Night)
V2_ Live, Mutable presents audio-visual concerts centered on improvisation, transformation, and flux.
This edition of V2_ Live, Mutable presents audiovisual concerts centered on improvisation, transformation, and flux as core artistic strategies. Audiences are invited into collective listening practices, where each performance responds directly to the event’s shifting conditions. The works evolve through perception, interaction, modulation, and adaptation to their environment, positioning change itself as the primary experience—for artists and audiences alike.
Program
Rafaele Andrade–IMPROVISING YOU
Improvising You is a live music performance exploring human connection in the digital age. Using a custom experimental instrument (KNURL), Rafaele Andrade transforms real-time biofeedback—heart rate and brain waves—from eight audience volunteers into an evolving composition of sound and light. The audience’s inner rhythms become a shared musical experience, blurring the line between individual and collective, human and technology.
RECPLAY(ArtScience)
RecPlay is an improvisation ensemble from The Hague, working at the edges of electro- and mechanical sound, noise, and live composition. Founded in 2001, the group performs with custom instruments, feedback systems, and unstable electronic circuits, allowing sound to emerge through attentive listening and collective interaction. Each performance unfolds as a fragile ecosystem in which gestures, space, video projections and light continuously influence one another. Rather than fixed compositions, RecPlay creates situations in which sound and image is discovered, negotiated, and momentarily held — shaped by the acoustics, the architecture, and the presence of the audience.
Richard Bolhuis–GUIDED BY STARS
For V2_ Live, Richard Bolhuis will perform an instrumental experimental set with sarangi player Vincent Swierstra, accompanied by immersive spatial projections. This improvised performance weaves meditative loops, analogue synth beats, and sarangi drones into a hypnotic, evolving soundscape. Bolhuis’s albumWe Are Guided by the Same Starswill be released on March 20.
